The Middleclub is offered in 2 through 6 to replace the corresponding numbered irons. For instance, the Middleclub 3 replaces the 3-iron. It has a noticeably shorter shaft so it’s as easy to hit as an 8-iron but goes as far or farther than a 3-iron. The shorter shaft also means it is much more accurate than a 3 iron could ever be.
The head is made of Cobalt 57, a proprietary alloy that feels extremely solid. The ball seemingly ‘jumps’ off the face with a trampoline-like effect (and it conforms to USGA Rules!). It is designed with a low center of gravity which gives you the right trajectory off the fairway, out of the rough, or while escaping the sand.
The heavier head and shorter shaft combine to generate more power so the player doesn’t sacrifice distance for control. In fact, the Middleclub has proven to be as long, or longer than, the corresponding iron and more accurate than the most popular fairway woods.
